Sneak Peek
Late last year I was invited to contribute a story for the second volume of "Rendezvous". It took me quite a while to figure out the story and layout, but there's no way I would have been able to do this without the help of my friends. I began rendering about a week ago so here is a sneak peek of the first page. 11 More to go!

hey mike, your work is killin' it as always. when was the last time you visited the ole cerritos studio?
Hey thanks Joe! Man it's been quite a while since i've visited. I want to go back but i usually go back to cali during the holidays so the studios closed. Perhaps one of these days... :)

hi mike!
this is sarah soh. hopefully you remember me. did small interview soph. year and met you at '08 senior show.
anyways i LOOOOOVE your pencil drawings :D the renderings are suuuper awesome and so clean. i was just wondering.. how do you get the shadings to blend so well?? im so amazed by it :)
continue the good work!
Hey Sarah - of course i remember. Thanks so much for the compliment. As far as process: I lay down and block in rough tones with graphite powder, but unfortunately it doesn't create perfect gradients. So i would say 60 percent of my time i'm sitting there trying to get everything to transition smoothly. It's a bit tedious and it definitely takes some time to do. I hope that's helpful. If not you can shoot me an email if you have more questions.
woooow! that's awesome!!! you may be such a patience person.
I'll keep passing by! your stuff is amazing. Congrats
Saludos!
